The symposium will offer an opportunity for participants to discuss the status of international anti-corruption efforts as well as ways of promoting integrity, transparency and accountability. One of the principal topics of discussion at the symposium will be the impact of the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business, to which Japan is a signatory. There will be a strong focus on good corporate governance and ethical business practices. Transparency in the context of development aid and overseas co-operation will also be on the agenda. It is hoped that a working group may be formed to follow-up on the key issues identified at the symposium and to plan for future activities.
