The Asia Foundation, in co-operation with the International Labor Organization and with the help of the Japan CSO Network will host a symposium on the serious, but largely ignored problem of trafficking of women to Japan. This symposium is aimed at increasing awareness within Japan of the role that Japan plays as a destination country in the spread of international trafficking in persons.
The symposium will provide an opportunity for the airing of views on trafficking in persons from various perspectives: NGOs assisting trafficked victims, law-enforcement agencies, the diplomatic community and policy-makers.
