Nick Langton is The Asia Foundation’s representative in Nepal since 1999. He has extensive
experience with the Foundation, having served as representative in the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka/Maldives.
He joined the Foundation in 1986 as a program officer in San Francisco
and also served as assistant representative in Bangladesh and Nepal. Prior to joining the Foundation, he was assistant director of the Southern Sudan Refugee Assistance Project. He also previously worked for CARE in the United States and was a Peace Corps volunteer, trainer, and consultant in Nepal.
His recent work with government and NGOs has been concentrated in the areas of law and human rights, economic reform, women’s programs, and regional relations.
B.A. in Asian studies and journalism from The Evergreen State College in Washington; M.P.A. from the University of Washington, Graduate School of Public Affairs.
